I do! I have a partners in crime-- my amazing mom & my oldest daughter. My mom has been working with me for five years now and my daughter shot her first wedding with me in October 2019. It's wonderful to have someone I can depend on. I also have other amazing photographers I use for second shooters in the event that an emergency happens to Nancy or myself. In the rare event something happens to me, Nancy shoots weddings solely as a first shooter as well so she will take good care of you and one of our backup second shooters will be thrilled to have a chance to capture your love story. :)
My mom, Nancy, also shoots as lead if I have your date booked but you'd still love to work with my style and editing!
I always base hours of coverage on number of locations for the day and what type of wedding it will be. I shoot between 8 -10 hours with the exception of cultural or NYE weddings where I allow up to 12 hours.
In my investment guide, it'll tell you how many locations I can shoot at in that timeframe. Location examples:
Hotel to get ready at.
Church for the ceremony.
A stop in between for photos.
Venue for reception.
I am located in Kansas but travel for half of my weddings. I base my travel fees off of time, airfare & car rental (if necessary), hotel stay and food.
There are no additional travel fees for the state of Kansas, KCMO & OK City.
I travel frequently to:
California, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma & Florida.
I'm always up for an adventure. :)
I highly encourage taking an engagement session. The amazing thing about an engagement session is that you get a chance to become relaxed in front of the camera. This is great for couples who have never had a photoshoot together before. Sometimes, it can be a little intimidating to look into each other's eyes or whisper silly things in one another's ears but by the end of the engagement session, you'll feel comfortable and ready to take on your wedding day full force. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to learn your chemistry with each other. Things that you do with each other that you may not even realize. He may like to rub your shoulders or always wrap his arm around your waist when you cross the street. I look for these to incorporate into your wedding photos so that when you look back at them, you see true love radiating from you both.
My style is romantic, elegant and full of warm, natural light. I love timeless, classic photos with a touch of modern day, artistic flare. I want my images to look filled with happiness.
My brides tend to look through magazines like The Knot and Martha Stewart Weddings and envision that their wedding could be on the pages of them.
I love making an image look exactly how the actual moment looked. I use flash to achieve a more natural skin tone look in darker areas but will always strive for a natural look.
The vast majority of my weddings take place either outdoors (such as gardens, countryside, vineyards) or in light and bright spaces such as ballrooms, villas, private estates, elegant barns and museums. About 1/2 of the ceremonies I shoot are in a church followed by a reception at an outdoor location or ballroom.
