Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Last December, I met these two kind souls.  They easily laugh around each other.  They lovingly look into one another’s eyes and the rest of the world seems to melt away around them.

Lexi is a rockstar bride.  If I could encourage all of my couples to do one thing to make their photos amazing, it would be to rent a hotel room or nearby air bnb that has tons of natural light in it.  This girl listened to all of my tips and tricks that I post and it landed her dreamy images that I know tell their story so perfectly.

Leix and her bridesmaids were getting ready on the 12th floor of the Ambassador Hotel in Wichita.  David and his groomsmen were just the floor below.  No paths would be crossing until the first look.

David arrived to Exploration Place first as we set up for the first look.  He told me he wasn’t nervous but he was talking 100mph until Lexi arrived so I think his anxiousness to see his bride was catching up to him.  Lexi called him by name and as he turned around his reaction was enthusiastic and he quickly walked towards her and leaned in to her.  Smiles on both of their faces before they embraced.

The ceremony was sweet and perfect.  They shared vows, exchanged rings and then shared in a prayer over communion.  The ceremony focused on creating a family together with Christ in the center of the family.  After their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked down the aisle, hand in hand with the biggest smiles on their faces.

Cocktail hour commenced with margaritas while the couple headed outside for sunset and dusk photos (plus, a little alone time is always needed after the busy wedding day).  When they arrived to the reception, hoots and hollers welcomed them in.  They cut their stunning cake with the nighttime sky behind them (windows at night in the background are always my fave!).   They shared a first dance as husband and wife that was close to each other and romantic.

David and his mom went to the dance floor.  David sang to her as they waltzed.  She pulled him in and held him close for a few moments at the end of the song.  Her baby boy was all grown up and it seemed to be in these moments that a lifetime of memories flashed in their minds.

Partway through the father/daughter dance, the music changed beats and they broke it down.  The guests roared with laughter.  Another surprise came–David walked in and had a showdown with Cliff.  The two of them danced against each other and then David hit the floor with some breakdancing.  Lexi came back in and finished the dancing with them.  It was a lot of fun to watch and they nailed it.

The night ended with a sparkler exit for the happy couple and they went on their way to Mexico to honeymoon!

David and Lexi,

Let me just say that the two of you are completely meant to be with one another.  I see so much love and respect given between the two of you.  Never lose that.  Your day was absolutely perfect and I am beyond thankful that you entrusted me to tell your love story.  Thank you for having me be a part of your journey!  I hope you had a blast in Mexico and enjoy this little glimpse into your big day!  The full gallery will be heading your way soon!
