Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

The beautiful bride, Dajana (pronouced Diana) calls Kansas her home now after moving from Croatia awhile ago. This gorgeous wedding day was infused with Croatian traditions that made the day one of a kind.

Dajana walked into the Cathedral holding her dress and running in with the most excited smile on her face.  The joy within her soul was contagious and her bridesmaids and mother helped her get into her dress–smiling the entire time.

Garret and his groomsmen talked as they waited for the girls to finish getting ready.  I asked Garrett if he was ready to see his bride for their first look and his eyes lit up ten times brighter.  His reply, “I cannot wait to see her!”

They decided to share their first look in front of the statue of Mary located inside the Cathedral.  They were so excited to see one another that it only took them seconds to walk to each other.  Garret pulled her in for a kiss immediately.  His wife to be simply stunning in her classic lace dress decorated with a cape that made her look more beautiful than the ice queen herself.  Sorry, Elsa!

The Mass officiants was shared with a friend of Garret’s, Deacon Derek Thome.  So naturally, a few memories were shared as he talked to the couple about their life together.  They shared a sweet kiss before heading to a party bus that would take them to their home where they would throw an apple filled with coins in it for good luck upon their marriage.

The reception started off with another tradition of the wedding party circling the couple as they danced before toasting and drinking.  Of course, muc

h more dancing and beautiful toasts followed as friends and family celebrated the wonderful life the two of them are beginning and Dajana seemed over the moon that she would now join Garret and his daughter forever.
