Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

There’s honestly nothing more magical than a wedding during the Christmas season.  The air is a little more crisp, the lights start twinkling all around and it just makes the couple’s love shine brighter.Joseph & Kelly both met in college and, ironically, were both studying to become lawyers.  The way they represent their clients is the only thing that seems to be completely opposite for them.  They seem to share a bond so strong & unique.  Their faith in the Lord, their love for each other and how they seem to truly want to make the other smile all of the time.

Their beautiful day started with the sun shining. Kelly’s bridesmaids gifted her some adorable Harry Potter flair that we absolutely had to incorporate into the day.  Kelly, her mom and her bridesmaids all got ready together at one of their homes.  Kelly’s sister recently had a baby boy and every chance she got, Kelly was holding him.  Kelly’s mom looked at them both adoringly before reminding her to stay focused so that we could make it to church on time.  A wedding and a newborn baby that you just have to snuggle with make it very easy to get distracted but all of the girls helped Kelly in anyway they could.  They got her into her stunning princess gown and laughter filled the air.

The couple decided to keep it traditional with no first look.  So as we arrived to Guardian Angels Catholic Church, they had to take a few precautions to make sure the happy couple didn’t cross paths.  The ceremony begin and Kelly’s brother escorted her down the aisle.  Joseph waited at the altar, leaning forward on his toes to get a better look at his breathtaking bride.  A full Mass took place and Father shared a story of how Joseph had made him a candle when he was only a child.  What a beautiful thing to think about–that this family has been in this Parish for so many years and had the chance to still have that Priest bless their marriage!  As their vows and rings were exchanged, you could see their families getting emotional with happy tears.  The couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife before exiting the church to head towards the beginning of their happily, ever after.

The reception took place at 28 Event Space in Kansas City.  An industrial vibe with a breathtaking sight behind it’s giant glass walls had guests oohing and ahhing as they entered.  Tables were completed with fresh greenery, Eucalyptus leaves and touches of gold everywhere.  Lanterns and twinkling lights set the mood and as the couple made their grand entrance to the dance floor, hundreds of smiles filled the room!

Joe & Kelly,

I cannot express how beautiful not only your day was but your love for each other is.  The way that you easily lean into one another, the way you make laughing and cuddling a big part of your relationship and just the joyful spirits that you both have.  Thank you so much for having me be a part of your amazing love story!  I cannot wait to see what lies ahead in your future and I hope you love this little sneak peek into your happily, ever after.
