Fun, Festive, Fiesta!  Sydney and Antonio’s Mexican-American wedding  was blessed with beautiful, sunny, weather in downtown Wichita.

Sydney and her ladies got ready at the historic Hotel at Old Town with a gorgeous view overlooking the city. Sydney’s mom helped her into her dress while giggles and champagne filled the air.  Her traditional lace wedding dress was complimented by a bouquet of lovely red and white roses designed by Antonio’s mother.

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church. The altar and pews were decorated with lovely fresh flower arrangements.  Antonio waited anxiously at the altar.   A bright smile came across his face as he saw his bride walking down the aisle towards him.  Hugs and kisses were exchanged between the parents and the bride and groom.  A bi-lingual Catholic Mass was celebrated and included the Mexican tradition of the Wedding Lasso Rosary wrapped around the couple as a symbol of “tying the knot”.  The holy beads were draped in the shape of the numeral 8 or infinity to reinforce a lifetime commitment and unity of marriage as one body in Christ.

Following the ceremony, the wedding party climbed onto the party bus and headed for a quick escape to the Pawnee Prairie Nature Trail.  The golden glow of the day with the late autumn backdrop was the perfect setting for some fun and flirty photos.  Sydney and Antonio gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes.  There was a warmth of love that radiated between the two of them throughout the day.

We headed to Distillery 244 Old Town for the reception.  What a magnificent sight!  Chandeliers set the perfect, romantic mood.  Candles and fresh flowers in crimson and white dotted the scenery.  A Mariachi Band played as guests arrived and dinner included a mix of Mexican and American favorites.  Sydney and Antonio cut into their cake then toasted to their future. Dancing followed and the Mexican “Snake” dance took them into the bouquet and garter toss.

A beautiful day led into the perfect night for this couple who crossed cultures to share their love.
