Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Välkommen to Lindsborg!  A small Kansas full of Swedish traditions. Dala horses on the homes and miniature pony sized ones up and down Main Street.  It was quaint and beautiful.

Kristen & Joel excitedly got ready to see each other.  The two women closest to them (his mom and her mom) helped in every way they could.  Their smiles vibrant and their eyes filled with joyful tears.

Kristen shared a first look with her father just moments before seeing Joel.  Her father awaited her and told me he was trying to keep it together.  As he turned to see his stunning daughter, he embraced her and emotions spilled from the both of them.

Joel & Kristen walked hand in hand after their first look.  You could see so much happiness filling the both of them as they crossed the street towards where we’d be taking pictures.  It was evident that these two were made for one another.  The way they fall so easily into each other and look into each other’s eyes–it is as if they can read the other’s soul.

The ceremony took place at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and was filled with many traditions–such as passing their rings around to their families before exchanging them.  Their first kiss as husband and wife had everyone applauding before they were greeted by even more applauds and cheers of joy as they exited through sparklers.

The reception at J.O. Sundstrom Conference Center was full of friends and family.  Jokes were made that the entire town had come to party since the mayor’s daughter got hitched and it was packed so I wouldn’t doubt it!

We headed outside during dinner so that the newlyweds could have a few quiet moments to themselves and we could get some captures of the Christmas spirit in town. Having even just five minutes with just your new husband is such a wonderful gift on the wedding day because it helps you both absorb the day and cherish the fact that you are now husband and wife.  I find this part of the day so important!

The evening wrapped up with a romantic first dance that was followed by a father/daughter dance that was full of love and emotions.  Joel then escorted his mother out for a dance that was full of smiles and laughter.  The dance floor opened up and everyone had a blast for the rest of the night.

Joel & Kristen,

I cannot begin to describe how beautiful the love you share is.   From the way you look at each other to the way you hold one another.  Thank you so much for having me be a part of your happily, ever after!  I hope you enjoyed every moment of your big day and I am beyond excited to share this sneak peek with you!

Happy Tuesday!
