Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

Maria is from Los Angeles.  When she moved to Wichita with her family, she walked into her brand new high school and locked eyes with someone.  Someone who would end up being there for her for the rest of her life.  Someone who would never give up on her, never stop loving her.

Ten years ago, Maria & Josh got married but they weren’t able to have the wedding of their dreams.  A short ceremony amongst family.  After ten years of celebrating their love for each other, Maria & Josh renewed their vows at their church and threw a pretty amazing and fun party for their family and friends.

Maria was so excited when we arrived.  She couldn’t stop smiling.  She was like an ocean breeze.  Calm, beautiful and bringing forth a sense of happiness that is indescribable.  They wrote letters to each other.  Josh’s was rolled up and put in his old wedding ring (they decided to get new rings as part of their renewal).  As she read his words of love and adoration, tears of joy streamed down her face.  She laughed as her friend fanned her to prevent her makeup from ruining.

Moments later, it was time.  St Mary’s Cathedral in Wichita, KS is absolutely breathtaking.  The doors to the church opened and Maria’s parents escorted her down the aisle.  Josh awaited her arrival with a beaming smile on his face.  She looked like a princess and I think his breath may have been knocked out of him. Father blessed them, blessed their marriage and then they presented Mary with a bouquet of roses before sharing a kiss as husband and wife in the Catholic faith.

The reception was at the Terradyne Country Club where everything was decorated with florals and sparkles.  The excitement level was high as they arrived and their friends and family greeted them.  After dinner, they showed off their dance moves with a choreographed first dance.  They spun around on the floor beautifully and as Josh lifted Maria up, her dress flowed around her, swirling them into a circle of true love.

Josh & Maria,

I am convinced that I now love vow renewals more than weddings.  As someone who had a renewal herself, it’s such an amazing gift to see a couple so in love after years of marriage already.  Let your love bring hope to all couples who are saying I do instead of I do still.  Let it be a light to them in the times of darkness in their marriage.  No matter what the day may bring, love will prevail.  Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day!  I hope you like this little preview into it.  🙂

Yours Truly,
