Romantic Storytelling, Fine Art Wedding Photographer

When you meet someone in high school, you hardly think that someone could end up being the one.  You’re just a kid.  There isn’t any way that crush that you message on Facebook and ask if they’d like to hang out sometime could really be the one. . . right?

Kai & Mariah are high school sweethearts that have been in each other’s lives for years.  Their love for each other has already experienced a lot and to see what they share currently–I mean, I cannot even begin to imagine how wonderful their relationship will be in 10 years of marriage.  It’s going to be beautiful.

The ladies prepared for the big day with makeup and hair, lunch and giggles while the guys upstairs played beer pong (yes, it was a sight to see in the hotel room!) Both rooms were filled with happiness and support from their closest friends and relatives.

Mariah’s mom and sisters helped got her stunning lace dress on and tears were being held back as they buttoned her up and laid out her train.  Ready or not, it was showtime.

Gorgeous sunflowers, curtains on a handmade arbor and wooden chairs transformed the Hyatt ballroom and made the guests feel like they were in the woods where the sun was showering love between the trees. Mariah’s dad escorted her down the aisle and Kai stood up front, patiently awaiting the arrival of his bride.  I’m not sure but I think he was holding back a couple of tears as he quickly changed his glance from her to his shoes.  Her father hugged her and she walked with Kai.  The moment everyone had been waiting for.  The moment that these high school sweethearts promised their love forever.

High fives greeted the couple as they headed back down the aisle as husband and wife.  The couple sneaked away from the crowd to enjoy some time to themselves before heading into the reception. In the reception ballroom, Beta fish and gold accents decorated the tables.  More sunflowers brightened the room and then the doors opened.  The new Mr & Mrs Black entered and the guests went wild with cheers and applause.

Toasts followed dinner and then the cake cutting took place.  At first, we thought they were going to feed each other politely but then Kai surprised us all by rubbing some cake all over her face.  Mariah popped open a bottle of champagne, they toasted before he pulled her in for a surprise kiss.

Dances and partying commenced.  Guests enjoyed taking selfies at the adorable photo booth wall and I am sure that many funny faces, forgotten moments and maybe even a kiss or two were caught in front of the photo booth.  😉

Kai & Mariah,

Your day was absolutely gorgeous.  It’s amazing how fast time flies during the day and I could tell the two of you were beyond ready to spend forever together.  I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon!  Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day!  Enjoy a little teaser for now.  🙂
